You can read the shooting script for “Authors Anonymous” and get a sense of format and story structure. Keep in mind that the original title was “Scribble,” but that was changed by the producers during shooting for marketing reasons.
Directed by Ellie Kanner, the movie was shot on location over the course of 18 days during August 2012 in Pacific Palisades, Sherman Oaks, Burbank, Van Nuys, Canoga Park, and West Hollywood. I wrote the original draft in 2005, so that’s 1-2-3-4-5-6-7 years between first draft and production, plus another 18 months before it was released. Not an unusual story in Hollywood.
Author Dennis Palumbo did a generous interview with me about the whole process for Psychology Today.
I will share the script for “Seven Sisters” and my Christmas projects once they head into production.
